I would like to start this post of with the fact that this might be one of the most fun logos I have ever created!!! Read on and you will see why 😜

A very good friend of mine’s mom loves animals. Dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, llamas and more call her land in Indiana home. With all of the chickens she has, she began selling farm fresh eggs. Along with her love of animals, she is filled with the best sense of humor that anyone could ask for. The family joke began with nicknaming their dog Madame Woo, which then evolved to, “here is Madame Woo and these are her working girls.” referring to the chickens!

I mean pure gold, right?!

That family joke then turned into the name of her Farm Fresh Egg business. They asked me to help them create a logo that captured not only the scope of the business, but the fun people you can expect to deal with. Honestly, there wasn’t much for me to do! They had this brilliant idea, and it was up to me to make that idea a reality!
So I hefted my trusty camera and set out to visit their home to take some photos of the infamous Madame Woo and her working girls. I brought my son with me because, uh, animals! He would have a blast!

This creation happened a lot in Adobe Photoshop. The logo we were creating was going to be printed on stickers to be used as labels for the egg cartons, so we didn’t have to worry too much about the having text outlines and such, so Adobe Illustrator wasn’t necessary. I set out to proof the images of the pup and chickens. Selecting the best ones of each, I cut them out of their backgrounds so I was left with silhouette images of each one. Once that was completed, each character needed a roaring twenties flapper girl look. Still with me? It’s hard to explain, so I will show you…
I know I said it before, but pure gold, right?!?!

Still all these years later, this is one of my favorite creations. It was so fun to use all of my skills from photography to Photoshop editing to Design. Each chicken, er, Working Girl has her own personality trait shown, and Madame Woo herself looks like she runs a tight ship.
I am actually not sure if you are still able to order eggs from Madame Woo and her Working Girls. I would be happy to find out, if you are in the Hammond, IN area.

Are you as enamoured with this design as I am? Tell me in the comments below.

Thanks for checking out my work and reading along!
