I was approached by RMK Marketing to create a logo for a new line of salsas that they are private labeling for their showroom. Not only are all of the ingredients for the salsas grown in Georgia, but it is produced there too!!
In our initial conversations, my client wanted to be sure that there were 2 elements that were incorporated: that it is farm fresh and from Georgia! He sent me some examples of logos and photos that he liked, which was a huge help in pointing me in the right direction to what he wanted the final design to be. There was a good mix of fun, fiesta styled examples, along with a few down home, farm fresh illustrations.
Now, how to incorporate the two?
So to the sketch book I went. I tried out some different ideas that I was seeing in my head, just to get something on paper.
The logos were falling into 2 categories: Fun + Festive and Classic. I took these sketches and drew them in Illustrator.
I submitted these two groups of logos as the first round of drafts. It came down to the bottom left and the bottom right. Both designs hit the marks for the brief. There was no denying the salsa comes from the farms in Georgia so it was really hard to select just one! I was no help here, I like both logos equally and couldn’t decide either 😁! After some deliberation, the final logo was chosen…
This logo features the state of Georgia with fresh produce in fun colors, because let’s face it, salsa means a party, right?! The client was very pleased with the final result and wasted no time in getting it up on their website and to production for labels.
Be sure to check out GeorgiaSalsa.com to get some southern inspired salsas for your next fiesta or bag of chips! All ingredients are locally sourced from Georgia farms and it is produced there too!
I’d love to hear what you think of this design. Tell me in the comments below.
